Taking a break...

Call it a blogging fast, call it a computer fast, but I am going to be gone for a little bit. I'm not sure how long I will need. A day, a week, I don't know. But when everything on the computer starts to feel angering or depressing, I know it's time for me to take a break.  It is going to be a hot week anyways, which means my ancient computer will be overheating and shutting itself off after 20 minutes of use, which would just piss me off even more!

Eventually you start to feel like you've banged your head against the brick wall long enough, and it's time to go out in the sun.

I'm sure it won't last forever. I still love to write. I have a list of post ideas and several half-written posts including topics like gentle discipline and private vs national health care and more. So I'll be back when I'm ready. I may pop on to say hi on facebook or check my email each day (that's how I get my work schedule after all) but I'm not planning on reading, blogging or socializing for a bit.

In the meantime, you may want to follow Sierra's blog to keep up with her fantastic series of interviews on sexuality and fundamentalism. She has more than 25 participants and it looks really interesting so far. Also check out or even contribute to this project called "Still Crying", giving a voice to people who were harmed by spanking.

Thanks for being there. I'll see you all again soon.

Take all the time you need and enjoy your break. Blogging and socialising are things you should do because you feel like it, they never should never be an unpleasant work.

  2. The interwebs will be dullerer without you.

  3. Take care of yourself. We'll still be here when you get back.

And also: knowing when to take some time off is a strength, not a sign of weakness.

  5. I just found your blog through the patheos blog, No Longer Quivering, and read through your entire courtship story at work (oops!) I'm glad you're taking a break, if that's what you need, but I want to encourage you that you are a very gifted writer with a strong voice that the world needs to hear! Please come back and keep writing! Blessings to you on your journey.
